July 22, 1934 - the ambush death of Public Enemy #1 John Dillinger in a barrage of FBI bullets! Or was it? It seems that J. Edgar Hoover's boys have blown away the wrong Dillinger - not John, but his brother. The "real" John Dillinger (Martin Sheen) slips away to go straight with a new life and a new family.
