The American Film Institute series "The Directors" provides one-hour glimpses into the careers of directors whose films have significantly influenced world cinema. Director David Cronenberg's disturbing visions (Shivers, Scanners, Rabid, Videodrome, Dead Zone) quickly earned his films cult status in horror circles. Cronenberg went on to direct major Hollywood productions such as The Fly, Naked Lunch and Crash.
