After a fateful encounter in a nightclub, middle-class married couple Nicole (Miou Miou) and Jean-Marie (Charles Berling) take in a young bisexual named Loïc (Stanislas Merhar), who throws their blandly contented lives into disarray in this nuanced drama. Setting the story in a provincial French town, director Anne Fontaine keeps the atmosphere low-key and compelling as the characters' ambiguous relationships play out to a startling conclusion.
