Four interlacing vignettes chronicle the lives of three neighbors in this slice-of-life drama, which plays out in a tumbledown section of Mexico City. The episodic tale profiles a married cantina owner (Ernesto Gómez Cruz) who discovers his latent homosexual feelings; a young virgin (Salma Hayek) who ultimately surrenders to prostitution and drugs; and an unattractive spinster (Margarita Sanz) who's looking for love in all the wrong places.
