Four connected tales of debt show how the modern economy and the promise of an easy monthly installment plan can turn credit into a terrible burden for people at any stage of life. Ryan finances his lifestyle on plastic, but won't pay the bills. Newlyweds Anil and Shilpa spend all of their income covering their debts. Busy father Desai borrows for his son's tuition, while Prema's husband commits suicide when he can't pay his debts.
