An oil refinery explodes in a small Alaskan town, triggering a massive avalanche that kills a small group of skiers. Years later, the refinery is rebuilt and awaiting final approval to reopen. Dr. Lia Freeman is the inspector sent to give final approval and the lone survivor of the deadly disaster that also killed her husband.
