Everyday People
(2004)|
Independent filmmaker Jim McKay wrote and lensed this story about a Jewish-owned deli in Brooklyn called Raskins, which serves an almost exclusively black clientele. After years in business, owner Ira (Jordan Gelber) considers selling out to a big corporation. The decision comes as part of the city's urban renewal program, but how will it go down with Ira's employees and customers? Not like a bottle of Dr. Brown's Celery Tonic, we wager.
