While spending summer vacation with their grandfather (Ernest Borgnine), Roger (Josh Paddock) and Travis (Bug Hall) meet an unlikely new playmate: a super-smart, pancake-loving giant turtle named Mel. The boys soon discover that a scheming neighbor wants Mel for use in a tourist attraction. With Grandpa's help, Roger and Travis undertake what may be the world's slowest rescue mission!
