Grasping hungrily for stardom, bit actor Andy Millman (Ricky Gervais) and his pal Maggie (Ashley Jensen) spend their days chasing after work as film and TV extras, while Andy shamelessly pushes his idea for a sitcom on anyone he can get to listen. When Andy miraculously succeeds at getting a show picked up by the BBC, the begging and scraping expected of him only get worse. Guest stars include Kate Winslet, Ben Stiller and David Bowie.
