Tough Texas Ranger Jack Benteen (Nick Nolte) lives a no-frills life on the Mexican border with his girlfriend, Sarita (Maria Conchita Alonso), until she returns to her former flame -- drug kingpin Cash Bailey (Powers Boothe), who was once Jack's best friend. Into the midst of this thorny triangle steps Maj. Paul Hackett (Michael Ironside) and his high-tech militia to stage a dicey drug bust and run the ruthless Cash out of business.
