In this slice-of-life tale, jobless, gambling-addicted divorcée Michèle (Sylvie Moreau) -- teen daughter Marguerite (Mylene St.-Sauveur) in tow -- lands on the suburban doorstep of her prim friend Janine (Macha Grenon). But the women's clashing lifestyles and social mores soon lead to escalating tensions between them, especially after rebellious Marguerite becomes a negative influence on Janine's dutiful daughter, Gabrielle (Juliette Gosselin).
