Father Goose

Cary Grant stars as Walter, a boozy beachcomber during World War II who monitors the radio in the South Pacific in exchange for shipments of alcohol -- which he does alone, until lovely schoolmarm Catherine (Leslie Caron) crashes on the island. With several of her pupils in tow, Catherine begins an immediate and electric feud with polar opposite Walter. But their anger eventually turns to warmth. The film won the Oscar for Best Original Screenplay.
