In this drama set in the 1930s and directed by Li Kong Hsu and Chi Yin, Shaodung (Lei Huang), a Chinese cellist born in America, goes home to Beijing to meet a woman arranged to be his wife, Ing'er (Rene Li). But his heart has other plans. In spite of his own inner conflict and instead of loving Ing'er, his attentions shift to a male opera singer, Lin Chun (Chao-te Yi). The twist confounds Shaodung and those in his life.
