On his deathbed, an Argentinean patriarch (Lee J. Cobb) fears that his nephew Heinz's (Karlheinz Böhm) allegiance to the Nazis will destroy the family. The old man's grandson, Julio (Glenn Ford), sets out to undermine Heinz, a mission that grows more dangerous as World War II rages on. Ingrid Thulin and Charles Boyer co-star in director Vincente Minnelli's updating of the Rudolph Valentino classic.
