Fresh out of college, Freckles Winslow (Johnny Downs) returns to his small hometown to help a friend and help bring the town into the 20th century. But when a gangster on the lam follows him to town, Freckles finds his homecoming full of chaos. Freckles gets mixed up in the crook's plot, finds himself accused of murder, and loses his sweetheart, Jane (Gale Storm), to a con man. Now, Freckles must straighten out the mishaps and win back the girl.
