Policeman John Sullivan (Jim Caviezel) has long dreamed of altering the events that took the life of his fireman father (Dennis Quaid) in October 1969. So when a series of miraculous occurrences makes it possible for John to communicate with his dad, he tries to change history. But by entwining the past, present and future, John gets much more than he bargained for … and unwittingly triggers a chain reaction of tragic events.
