Director Fritz Lang triumphantly returned to his native Germany (after two decades in Hollywood) to direct this lavish two-part adventure tale. Called to India by the Maharajah of Eschnapur, architect Paul Hubschmid falls in love with a beautiful temple dancer (Debra Paget) who's promised to the Maharajah. Igniting the ruler's wrath, the lovers are forced to flee into the desert and embark on a series of spectacular adventures!
