This Emmy-nominated reality TV miniseries follows three families who revisit the American frontier era and live as homesteaders for five months with little more than food, livestock, a plot of land and some basic supplies. As the Brooks, the Clunes and the Glenns prepare for the coming winter, a panel of experts assesses whether each family is likely to survive in the unforgiving Montana landscape.
