Michael Caine repeats the lead role in this second installment of the Harry Palmer series, the follow-up to The Ipcress File. Unwillingly serving as a spy for Her Majesty (the alternative to a long jail sentence), Palmer is sent to East Berlin to extricate a Russian general who wants to defect. His plan is to stage a phony funeral and transport the general out of Berlin in a coffin. Can he pull it off?
