Inspired by Frank Capra's Meet John Doe (1941), this 1956 social commentary from director Chetan Anand tells the story of an opportunistic scoundrel who sees his chance for a quick fortune when he meets a suicidal man and convinces him to claim an insurance policy. This Bollywood classic features the beloved musical number "Dukhi Man Mere Sun Mera Kehna" sung by Kishore Kumar, and two lovely duets sung by Kumar with Asha Bhosle.
