World War II correspondent Ernie Pyle is the subject of this documentary that chronicles the journalist's experiences and work during the war. An Indiana native, Pyle was killed by Japanese machine-gun fire in 1945. The film depicts the war correspondent's wartime efforts and personal reflections through reenactments, photos and words from Pyle himself. Interviews include Gerald Ford, Walter Cronkite and Andy Rooney.
