After getting into trouble together as kids in turn-of-the-century New York City, Mike McGlennon (Russell Hayden), Vi Parker (Nancy Kelly) and Ross Hadley (Chester Morris) take drastically different paths in life: Mike is now a cop, Vi's a nightclub singer and Ross runs a casino. But when a feud between powerful gamblers attracts the attention of the police, their lives -- and hearts -- will intersect once again.
