Shortly after completing his tour of duty in Vietnam, disillusioned Army vet Harry Bailey (Elliott Gould) returns to college to complete his education and finds himself in the center of a battle between the rebellious student body and the straightlaced faculty. This socially minded dramedy also stars Candice Bergen as Harry's girlfriend, Jan, Cecil Kellaway as narrow-minded professor Dr. Kasper and Robert F. Lyons as determined draft dodger Nick.
