Giacomo Puccini's opera of star-crossed lovers -- widely considered to his first masterpiece -- gets an emotionally stirring treatment in this Riccardo Muti-conducted and Liliana Cavani-directed production at the La Scala Theater in Milan, Italy. Russian soprano Maria Guleghina and Argentinean tenor José Cura bring emotional depth and breathtaking vocal skills to their depiction of the tragic pair at the heart of the story.
