Lorelai (Lauren Graham) and Rory's (Alexis Bledel) mother-daughter relationship is far from cloying or boring; instead, it's a constant give-and-take, forcing each to grow up a little at a time. This season begins with Rory back from the nation's capital. Lorelai's glad to have her close once again -- but of course, complications arise, including a meddling Emily (Kelly Bishop), a surprise announcement from Gran (Marion Ross) and more.
