Jesus Lopez Cobos conducts the symphony orchestra and chorus of Barcelona's Gran Teatre del Liceu in this 2004 performance of "Rigoletto," one of Italian composer Giuseppe Verdi's most popular operas. The tragic tale centers on the hunchbacked Rigoletto (Carlos Alvarez) and his well-intentioned attempts to protect his daughter (Inva Mula) from the truth: that he's a mere court jester employed by her lover, the Duke of Mantua (Marcelo Alvarez).
