Taking their cameras to far-flung locales in Asia, the Middle East and South America, filmmakers Sam Dunn and Scot McFadyen chronicle the continuing evolution of heavy metal and chart its influence on cultures around the world. The result is a revealing portrait of an often misunderstood genre that's found new artistic expression in Chinese black metal, Iranian thrash metal and Indonesian death metal.
