Anne Sofie von Otter and Paul Groves star in Robert Wilson's breathtaking production of Christoph Willibald Gluck's groundbreaking 1776 opera about a noble queen who sacrifices her own life to save that of her ailing husband. Noted as the first version to feature period instrumentation, this masterful adaptation features the English Baroque Soloists ensemble and the Monteverdi Choir under the helm of conductor Sir John Eliot Gardiner.
