Picking up several years after the action in Wong Jing's popular God of Gamblers, this gritty sequel tracks down the now-retired Ko Chun (Chow Yun Fat), who's relocated to France with his pregnant wife. When a malevolent opponent dubbed "The Dragon" (Charles Heung) challenges him to a life-and-death game of cards, Ko Chun politely refuses. But the villain forces his hand when he murders the former gambler's unborn child.
