Ruthless stud Benito Gonzales (Javier Bardem) wants wealth, women and to erect a skyscraper in his own honor. In order to achieve this, he marries Marta (Maria de Medeiros), the sophisticated daughter of a rich banker, but keeps mistress Claudia (Maribel Verdu) on the side. When Marta and Claudia realize they're victims of Benito's greed, things begin to crumble for him -- has his luck finally run out?
