Takashi Ishii penned and directed this dark, violent crime drama and its sequel, both set in Japan. In Gonin (which means five), five men -- all financially tethered to the yakuza -- join forces to save themselves from the poorhouse by bilking the very man they owe. Koichi Sato and Takeshi Kitano star. In Gonin 2, five women, along with a man with a vengeance (Ken Ogata), take on the yakuza, but things don't go as smoothly as planned.
