The Evans family continues to keep their heads above water in this sixth and final season of the hit television comedy. Florida (Esther Rolle) returns from Arizona to attend daughter Thelma's (BernNadette Stanis) wedding to a football player. Meanwhile, J.J. (Jimmie Walker) helps support the family as an art teacher. Ralph Carter, Ja'net DuBois, Janet Jackson and Johnny Brown co-star. Guest stars this season include Gary Coleman and Kim Fields.
