Determined to start fresh, recovering alcoholic Grace (Brett Butler) leaves her abusive husband and takes a job at an oil refinery. As she deals with dating, single parenting and working in a male-dominated field, she learns some lessons about living with grace. Meanwhile, she finds a new family of friends, including neighbors Wade and Nadine. John Goodman and Diane Ladd guest star in the debut season of this popular sitcom.
