Pop star Prince ventures into the world of cinema once again with this follow-up to Purple Rain. Serving as writer, director and actor, Prince stars as "The Kid," who continues to fall short musically in comparison to his archrival, Morris Day, and his band, The Time. As The Kid and Morris square off with regard to a club that's been bestowed to them in equal parts, their rivalry culminates in a musical contest to see who gets complete control.
