Bronte (Andie MacDowell), a prim horticulturist with a talent for making even the most stubborn plant thrive, will stop at nothing -- even marriage -- to get her dream apartment, especially one with a beloved greenhouse. So, she marries Georges (Gerard Depardieu), a free-spirited Frenchman who needs a green card. When the INS comes knocking at the door, the two have to pretend to be in love, which turns out to be not so far from the truth.
