Amar (Sanjeev Kumar) and Mansi's (Sharmila Tagore) quiet life together is thrown into turmoil when Amar's company assigns an attractive new employee to share his office. Amar and Sapna (Sarika) begin to spend more and more time together and eventually fall in love, forcing the reserved bookkeeper to choose between the steadfast companionship of an arranged marriage and the growing demands of his heart.
