In modern-day Mexico City, scientific curiosity prompts siblings Jose Maria (Aleix Albareda) and Mercedes (Ivana Miño) to investigate the legend of the Virgin of Guadalupe, a mysterious image of a woman's face that appeared on the robe of an Indian (José Carlos Ruiz) some 500 years ago. Who was she? Why did she appear? And how did her presence manage to calm a brewing feud between Spaniards and the natives they sought to conquer?
