This musical adaptation of Mary Mapes Dodges's classic children's Christmas story centers on young Hans (Robin Askwith), who has a passion for ice skating. After Hans's father is injured in an accident, the boy is unable to buy the silver skates he longed for. Hans enters a skating competition in hopes of winning the skates and finds a doctor (Richard Basehart) who may be able to help his father. Eleanor Parker and Cyril Ritchard also star.
