Rock superstar Rick Springfield plays James Roberts, a larger-than-life recording artist who's at the top of the musical heap. Still, James' latest album isn't jelling, and his love life is in shambles. But a fender-bender with child psychologist Diana Lawson (Janet Eilber) could provide just the spark James needs to get back on track; trouble is, none of his usual romantic ploys seem to work on Diana.
