Carroll Baker plays screen legend Jean Harlow in this slick biopic about the platinum-haired star who died at the tender age of 26. Among the characters who exploit Jean are her overbearing stage mother (Angela Lansbury), lecherous stepfather (Raf Vallone) and a husband (Peter Lawford) who reveals himself to be impotent on their wedding night. Jean's only ally seems to be her agent (Red Buttons, in a Golden Globe-nominated supporting turn).
