Filmmaker Angel Fernandez Santos's debut is a stunning exploration of the destructive power of ennui. Andres (Carlos Hipolito) is bored with his marriage, but his mundane existence is upended by a chance meeting with a sales clerk, Isabel (Cayetana Guillen Cuervo), with whom he becomes immediately obsessed. Sadly, she's merely using him as a pawn to raise money for her jailbird boyfriend -- a fact Andres discovers a little too late.
