In 1946, young Uri (Assi Dayan) returns from college to his much-changed kibbutz, where he falls for a newly arrived Polish refugee named Mika (Iris Yotvat). But with Israeli statehood approaching, Uri knows he'll soon be conscripted into the army -- and forced into a dilemma. Set during the dramatic days of the birth of Israel, this affecting drama is based on Israeli author Moshe Shamir's acclaimed novel.
