Heartworn Highways
(1975)|
Documentarian James Szalapski's 1975 film depicts an important epoch in country music -- the back-to-basics "Outlaw Country" movement espoused by mostly young performers and centered in Austin and Nashville. Guy Clark, Townes Van Zandt, Rodney Crowell, Steve Young and Steve Earle perform along with The Charlie Daniels Band and David Allan Coe. Tracks include "L.A. Freeway," "Ohoopee River Bottomland" and "That Old Time Feeling."
