John Strauss (Roy Dupuis), suffering from a life-threatening genetic disorder, plumbs his family tree to find the root of his illness. His search leads him and his wife (Kristin Lehman) to a remote island off the coast of Maine that's plagued by mutated freaks. With help from the boozy Dr. Marlowe (Rutger Hauer), John uncovers a ghastly truth about his heritage linked to a 300-year-old secret. Dan O'Bannon, creator of Alien, co-wrote the film.
