This documentary explores French auteur Henri-Georges Clouzot's mysteriously aborted attempt to direct L'enfer, a sultry, experimental film that shut down after three weeks of production in the early 1960s, never to be completed. Using interviews with the film's crew and clips from the unfinished movie, filmmakers Serge Bromberg and Ruxandra Medrea shed light on the acclaimed director's creative turmoil that precipitated the debacle.
