When the mayor of a Mexican town is killed by his own people, janitor Juan Vargas (Damian Alcazar) is appointed to the position. Expected to be clueless and easy to control, he instead becomes power-hungry and corrupt -- with a little help from a crooked politician (Pedro Armendáriz Jr). This crime caper was written and directed by Luis Estrada, who was awarded the Latin America Cinema Award at the Sundance Film Festival.
