The lives of three Tunisian women crisscross in this subtle critique of North African Islamic nations' persistent oppression of women. Narrowly escaping a rape after being seen kissing her lover on the beach, Leila (Nozha Khouadra) gets a lift from middle-aged doctor Naima (Samia Mzali), who shares her sad tale of crushed romantic dreams. Later, Naima treats Amina (Amel Hedhili) -- a woman trying desperately to mask her domestic-abuse injuries
