Clint Eastwood directs and stars in this musical drama about a country singer who must exorcise his demons before he can find true success. Irresponsible Red Stovall changes his approach to life when he's invited to audition at the Grand Ole Opry. On his way there, Red encounters his teenage nephew, Whit (Clint's son Kyle Eastwood), whose mother has urged him to accompany Red to ensure he gets to the Opry safely.
