In Cassidy of Bar 20, Hopalong and his sidekick Lucky face trumped-up charges and get assigned to the ranch of chief malefactor Allison to work off the sentence. A hair-raising jailbreak and an exciting gun duel ensue during their attempt to bring Allison to justice. In Partners of the Plains, jealousy rears its green head when ranch foreman Hopalong becomes the target of the boyfriend of the English girl who owns the property.
