Hot Saturday / Torch Singer
(1932)|
Released before Hollywood's strict "Production Code" banned taboo topics from the big screen, this pair of classic films from the 1930s pushed the envelope with their salacious subject matter. In Hot Saturday, a man (Randolph Scott) is appalled to hear that his fiancée (Nancy Carroll) spent the night with a disreputable cad (Cary Grant). Then, in Torch Singer, a nightclub star (Claudette Colbert) launches a search for her illegitimate daughter.
